The HeartSine® samaritan® PAD Public Access Defibrillator is an easy-to-use medical device that is used to administer lifesaving treatment for Sudden Cardiac Arrest. No complex displays or controls. A flashing green STATUS light indicates system is operational. The HeartSine® samaritan® PAD prompts you visually and audibly with clear, calm instructions while reminding users to “call for medical assistance.” The system then guides the user through pad application to shock delivery if required. Electrode pads are contained in an innovative Pad-Pak™ or Pediatric-Pak™ which are accessible by pulling the green tab. HeartSine Samaritan PAD AED Specs...

 AED : What is it?  An AED is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses the potentially life threatening cardiac arrhythmias of ventricular fibrillation.  Regardless of which brand of AED is used, the only knowledge required to operate it is to press the "ON" button.  Once the AED is turned on, it actually speaks to you in a computer-generated voice that guides you through the rest of the procedure.  You will be prompted to place a set of adhesive electrode pads on the victim's bare chest and, if necessary, to plug in the pads' connector to the AED. The AED will then begin to automatically analyze the person's ECG rhythm to determine if a shock is required.  It is critical that no contact be made with the person while the AED is analyzing the ECG.  If the automatic AED determines that a shock is needed, it will deliver the shock by itself. However, if the AED is semi-automatic, it will tell you when to press the button that will deliver the shock.  Once the shock is delivered you will be prompted to resume CPR.
